NESTLÉ WATERS NA

The Brief: Nestlé Waters North America wanted to position their new bottle made with less plastic as environmentally friendly— a creative challenge. Everyone knows plastic bottles are bad for the environment. Still, billions of them are sold each year. The consumer obviously doesn’t want to give up the convenience of single-serve water bottles, at least some of the time.

The Strategy: When it comes to the environment, every little bit helps. If you’re going to drink from a plastic water bottle, choose the one with 30% less plastic.

Video: In this commercial, people make small, environmentally friendly changes to their daily routines that add up over time. Like turning off the water faucet while brushing their teeth, biking to work, or carpooling. When they do, a flower grows out of the top of their heads. At the end, a woman drinks from a bottle of Arrowhead (Nestlé Water’s brand on the US west coast) made with 30% less plastic. As she does, a flower grows out of her head, too.

For non-video executions, a tree hugs a guy drinking water from the new bottle.
